Physetoparia villiersi (Schubart, 1955), the type species Heterosphaeropar- ia Schubart, 1955 by original designation, Nimba Mountains, Guinea and Mount Tonkoui, Côte d’Ivoire (Schubart 1955; Demange and Mauriès 1975). This species was originally described in Heterosphaeroparia Schubart, 1955, then relegated to Sphaeroparia (Demange and Mauriès 1975; Mauriès and Heymer 1996), but since the synonymization of Heterosphaeroparia with Phy- setoparia by Golovatch et al. (2018), it must be transferred to Physetoparia, comb. nov. ex Sphaeroparia.
