Attems was not aware of the publication of the extensive description of P. bouvieri by Brolemann in 1904. Otherwise he would probably not have described his material as a new species and compared it with P. verrucosus from Sumatra. It is remarkable that P. modestior was
not mentioned in the Tierreich monograph of 1938.
