The name Polydesmus bracbydesmoides is preoccupied by P. bracbydesmoides Verhoeff, 1894, now regarded as synonym of P. falcifer Latzel, 1884. Polydesmus brachydesmoides Ceuca, 1966 is a primary junior homonym and is thus not available, not even in the new combination with Pseudomastuchus. Pending the proposal of a valid substitution name, we use brachydesmoides for this species.
