A new state record is documented for the flat-backed xystodesmid milliped, Howellaria infesta (Chamberlin) collected from Woods Hole, Massachusetts. The species is known from five states (Connecticut, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and now Massachusetts); the current record represents the northernmost locality in the USA for H. infesta.
