Hoffman ( 1980) proposed the change of name from Solenozophyllaria to Ctenoiulus. When Kraus
investigated the status of Solenozophyllaria, no males of C. chatelainei were available, and the genus
could thus not be verified. Hoffman later traced a slide preparation of this species which clearly indicated
that C. chatelainei is congeneric with those species grouped by Kraus under Solenozophyllaria.
