Spelling There have been two spellings of the specific epithet, Rhiscosomides meineri Silvestri, 1909 in the literature. The spelling "meineri" was used in the original description, and was correctly used in Chamberlin & Hoffman, 1958 and Jeekel, 1971. However, the spelling "mineri" was used by Silvestri, 1913, Shear, 1973, Hoffman, 1999, and Shelley et al., 2009. In the original description, Silvestri noted that he named the species after R. W. Miner of the AMNH, NY. [details]
