pair of animals that had been sent to him several years
previously. In 1893 he had mentioned them - referring tonthem as G. connexa. Machado (1946) lists two Portuguese localities for “G. connexa”. It seems wise to disregard all references to “G. conncxa” in Iberia. No further mention of G. lusitana has come to light.
