Male characters of type material originally described insufficiently for recognition. Therefore all subsequent identifications of material from Vietnam and the Malay Peninsula were to be considered doubtful. The material described and recorded from Vietnam by Attems (1938, 1953) seemed identical with or at least quite closely related to Platyrhacus bouvieri Brolemann. See however P. bouvieri and P. similis.
